Follow the $$$: Financial Aid in B-school

ROI. Money. $130,00 price tag. Financial Aid. All are important to MBA applicants, and they have garnered more attention this week.

  • MBA Podcaster has an excellent segment on financial aid. It goes into admirable detail on planning for the expense of an MBA education and a possible tax deduction for your MBA expenses. Furthermore the segment includes an interview with Thomas Caleel, Director of MBA Admissions and Financial Aid at Wharton, who provides detailed information on financial aid options at Wharton for both US permanent residents and internationals students.
  • Businessweek has published an informative article on financial aid at a few top schools, "Show Them the Money." Chicago earned particular attention because of its generous financial aid policies. The article also discusses Kellogg, Harvard, Stern, and Wharton. It is not as indepth as the MBApodcaster piece, but it is still worthwhile.
